The Department of English, in association with AIUB-IQAC has successfully held a day-long workshop on Research Methodology for Teachers of English Discipline at AIUB-Permanent campus on Thursday, September 28, 2017 commencing from 11:00 am with official inauguration by M Hamidul Haque, the Head of the Department of English. This workshop was conducted by Professor Dr. Shaila Sultana, Chairperson, English Language Programme, Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka. The faculty members of English Department attending the workshop were separated in groups and they discussed about and worked on good research questions, research objectives, structuring a research work, developing abstract, identifying the problems why the research is intended, citing as well as referencing the entire work. The workshop was a great motivation for the participants in publishing research articles. At the end of the workshop Professor Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, honorable Pro-vice Chancellor of AIUB, and Professor Dr. Tazul Islam, honorable Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences graced the occasion with their presence. They thanked Professor Dr. Shaila Sultana for sparing her time for conducting the workshop and motivated the workshop attendees for actualizing their knowledge gained on research methodology by publishing good research articles. Workshop attendees were provided with a Certificate of Participation at the end of the program at 5 pm. The Department of English renders its heartfelt thanks to AIUB-IQAC and AIUB management for extending their generous support for making this event successful.
