The webinar commenced with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Following the introduction, Mr. Mujtaba began his session, emphasizing the critical importance of strategic project planning and persuasive proposal writing in today’s competitive, resource-conscious environment. He highlighted that these skills are indispensable for success in corporate leadership, social development, and academic research endeavors.
Mr. Mujtaba provided an in-depth overview of global funding opportunities for developmental projects, drawing on his extensive experience managing large-scale humanitarian initiatives in Ethiopia. He explained how effective project planning ensures a clear roadmap for success by defining objectives, allocating resources, and setting achievable timelines. These strategies, he noted, enhance efficiency, reduce risks, improve team coordination, and facilitate ongoing progress monitoring, turning ideas into actionable steps. The speaker also underscored the importance of crafting compelling proposals. He described proposal writing as a crucial tool for securing support, funding, and stakeholder approval. A well-structured proposal communicates a project’s vision, demonstrates feasibility, and establishes credibility, serving as both a persuasive document and a reference during project implementation. Together, strategic planning and strong proposal writing are essential for achieving impactful outcomes, ensuring clarity, accountability, and strategic alignment. The session concluded with an interactive open-floor discussion, where students and faculty members engaged actively with the speaker, sharing queries and insights.
Dr. Faria Sultana, Head of the Department of Economics at AIUB, delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to Mr. Mujtaba for his enlightening session and to the participants for their enthusiasm.
