Annually, for the last three years, the Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) an aggrupation of 166 universities and organizations from 38 countries and territories in Asia and the Pacific is searching for Best Model Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) University or Institution for 2016. The mission of the organization is to enhance the quality of higher education in Asia and the Pacific region through strengthening the work of quality assurance agencies and extending between them. The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) is an institutional member including 4 other universities and the University Grants Commission (UGC) here in Bangladesh. It is with pride and distinct honor to have been chosen as the Best Model IQA University by APQN. This is not only an honor for AIUB but for the whole academia in Bangladesh. The panel of international jurors has chosen AIUB for demonstrating a good practice that has potential of adaptation among APQN Members. This is an award to institutional members who have committed to quality assurance mechanism and quality culture building. The selection was announced by the Board of APQN during the APQN’s International Conference held last 26-27 May 2016 in Nadi, Fiji Islands.
