The AIUB Economics Club organized an "Alumni Career Talk" session on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Media Studio of American International University–Bangladesh. The session featured Ms. Marjan Hossain, a dedicated researcher from the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), a leading research institute in Bangladesh, and Mr. Md. Asif Chowdhury, Business Development Specialist at Picard Bangladesh Limited.
Alumni career talks play a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic life and professional reality for current students. The primary goal of the talk was to inspire and guide students of the Department of Economics and Business faculty to help them to navigate toward a promising and fulfilling career path. The alumni speakers shared their unique journeys, highlighting the challenges they faced and providing practical advice on applying academic knowledge in the professional world. The Alumni offered practical advice on developing a career path, including tips on building relevant skills, navigating job markets, making strategic career decisions, and the value of professional certifications for the existing students. Their insights, experiences, and achievements served as valuable sources of guidance and motivation for the next generation of graduates. This event allowed students to connect directly with alumni who are already established in their industries, opening doors to mentorship, internships, or even future job opportunities.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Ms. Farhana Rafiq, Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Mentor of the AIUB Economics Club. Dr. Faria Sultana, Head of the Economics Department, along with other distinguished faculty members, attended the session.
