On 19th December 2018, AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) arranged the Final Defense completion program known as “Celebration of Capstone Project and Thesis Completion” of EEE and CoE department for the Fall 2018-2019 semester. This remarkable program was held in the Multi-purpose Hall of Annex-7 of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) which was supported by the Faculty members of the Department of EEE & CoE.
A total of 65 groups defended their projects before their respective supervisor, external and other faculty members. After the completion of the defense of each group, a poster competition was held; where the judges inspected all the posters and questioned on topics related to the poster to the belonging group members. All the participants were presented with a crest as a token of appreciation for successfully completing their capstone project and thesis. It was further brought to life by the cordial inaugurating speech from Prof. Dr A. B. M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, and AIUB). He commended all the students for presenting such splendid work and wished them success in their future endeavours. Furthermore, He discussed about the different ways in which students can bring revolutionary development in the modern world by working on existing technology and encouraged them to focus on robotics and AI. After that the cultural program started. The audiences were mesmerised by the delightful musical and animated dance performances by the students of Department of EEE & CoE and ACES team members. Followed by the cultural program, the raffle draw event was held; which was inaugurated by Mr. Ahmed Mortuza Saleque (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB and Special Assistant, Department of CoE) , Mr. Kawshik Shikder (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) and Mr. Safayat Ahmed (Motivator, ACES; Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB).
At the ending part of the event, the prize giving ceremony took place for the poster competition where the top-three groups were provided with the certificate of acknowledgement in the presence of Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan (Director of Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Nafiz Ahmed Chisty (Head In-Charge (UG), Department of EEE & Associate Professor, Department of EEE & CoE), Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Head, Department of CoE & Senior Assistant Professor, Department of EEE & CoE, AIUB) and Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain (Senior Assistant Professor, Department of EEE and CoE and Special Assistant, OSA, AIUB). Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave a closing speech, where he appreciated all the participants for all their diligence in successfully defending their projects and thesis. Finally, he announced the five groups which were nominated for the Vice Chancellor Award in the Fall 2018-19 session and the magnificent program came to an end with a group photo including all the audiences, faculty members and the ACES team. The entire event was a great accomplishment due to the immense support from the project & thesis supervisors and external supervisors of EEE and CoE department of AIUB.
