This domain under the Department of Social Science explores a variety of related research ideas across a range of disciplines, including good governance, Media and politics, decentralization, local government and rural development, democracy and global partnership, human resource development, public administration and policy issues etc. Politics and government are very important for several reasons. It is the study of governing and how political power is used as a process of making decisions. In addition, politics and the concept of democracy are based on the idea that all people are treated equally before the law. Moreover, policy decisions influence the socio-economic development of a nation along with other societal issues. The intricate relationship of Politics, governance ,democracy and media along with its challenges are the focus of this domain with special attention to our society.

The inclusion of persons with disabilities (PWD’s) in the local governance structures of Bangladesh remains a significant challenge despite national and international commitments toward inclusivity. This exclusion is largely due to socio-cultural stigmas, insufficient legal frameworks and the lack of awareness about disability rights among local authorities. In this backdrop the study is attempted to see how far inclusion of PWD’s is being implemented in the domain of local government.
