The Department of Public Health of AIUB welcomed its summer 2016-17 freshers through an exciting and informative orientation program held at the AIUB auditorium in the campus 1 building on June 10, 2017. Prof. Dr. T. Hossain, the vice president Academics & Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Neaz, Advisor of MPH Program, other respected faculties and the students were present at the occasion. Air Commodore Md. Muradur Rashedin, a successful former student of MPH program, was also present at the event.
The Program started with a brief introduction of all respected faculties and students, followed by an informative 15 minutes’ documentary video on AIUB and its MPH program. Then, Dr. Ahmad Neaz briefly discussed AIUB academic rules, grading policy and future plans. After that, Dr. Tazul Islam highlighted special features of the MPH program at AIUB. He also mentioned several success stories of the program’s current and the alumni to inspire the freshers to make the program globally recognized. Next, the program’s respected faculties Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Dr. Abu Jamil Faisal, Dr. Pradip Sen Gupta, Dr. Tasdik, a former student, current adjunct faculty & the first Chancellor’s Award winner from the department shared their public health experience and contributions of AIUB in the local MPH field. Two freshmen students, Abdul Mazid & Zannatun Nahar also spoke on the occasion. Suneeta Karki, a second semester MPH program student warmly received the freshers on behalf of the seniors.
The program ended with an Iftar and a closing speech given by Prof. Dr. T Hossain. The Department of Public Health humbly acknowledges the generous support of AIUB management to make this event successful.
