| A seminar was organized by the Oracle Academy on October 22, 2009 at the Hotel Sheraton. The topic of the seminar was ‘Preparing Students for 21st Century Careers’. AIUB is the first university to become Oracle Academy in Bangladesh in May 2008. Under the Oracle Academy Program, the Faculty of Science and Information Technology of AIUB received exclusive access to Oracle software and support, and privilege to use curriculum developed by and for Oracle University. The curriculum and course materials of Oracle Academy are incorporated with the Database courses under this faculty. Students and Faculty members of the Faculty of Science and IT will also receive 50% discount for Oracle Certification Self Test Software and 40% discount on Oracle certification exams. Faculty Members and Technical Support Staff can obtain 50% discount on Oracle Training Products.
One of the objectives of this seminar was to increase the number of Oracle Academy in Bangladesh. As a pioneer of this venture, examples and practices of Oracle Academy of AIUB was presented to the prospective academies. The presentation was conducted by Mr. Manzur H Khan, Coordinator, Office of Student Affairs and Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. Later, Md. Shiefuzzaman, System Analyst of VUES and also the in-charge of Oracle Academy in AIUB demonstrated the online features and benefits of this affiliation to the audience.
