On 17th August, 2017, IEEE AIUB Student Branch organized a seminar on “Road to Erasmus+ Scholarship” in collaboration with the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA). The seminar was quite knowledgeable for enthusiasts who were seeking to pursue higher education in Europe as it focused on the application procedures and additional requirements for the Erasmus+ scholarship.
The opening speech was delivered by respected Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, who discussed refining a student’s strengths and experiences to ensure a significant impact on their respective resume. He also encouraged participants to work harder to achieve their future academic goals.
The first speaker of the seminar, Mr. Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Country Representative (CR) of Bangladesh, Erasmus Mundus Association, took the stage and initiated his presentation with a brief introduction to Erasmus Mundus Association. Then he emphasized on different types of programs offered by Erasmus Mundus Association for master’s degree and doctorate degree. He also briefed about the necessary standards of the application procedure for Erasmus+ scholarship.
Later, the stage was given to the second speaker of the seminar, Mr. Ar. Sazzad Hossain, Information Coordinator, South Asian Chapter Board; Former Country Representative (CR), Erasmus Mundus Association, who elaborately discussed online application procedure for the Erasmus+ scholarship. Then he alongside Mr. Fakrul Islam Tushar, Erasmus Scholarship holder of 2017; Chairperson (2016), Chapters and Affinity Group, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, discussed the significance of academic evaluation, research work, foreign language and extracurricular activity respectively for the selection procedure. Following that, Mr. Rajon Bhuiyan, Erasmus Scholarship holder of 2017, shared his experience on attaining Erasmus+ scholarship through extracurricular activities. The session was concluded with an interactive question and answer session with the participants.
The concluding speech was delivered by our honorable Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, who advised the participants to gain knowledge of foreign cultures and societies while pursuing higher education abroad. Afterwards, Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain handed over certificates and tokens of appreciation to the speakers, Mr. Ar. Sazzad Hossain and Mr. Md. Ashiqur Rahman respectively. The seminar was crowded with around 120 enthusiasts from reputed universities, IEEE Student Branches and organizations in Bangladesh. The event was graced by the presence of Md.
