A talk show titled “Emergence of Information systems in Banking Sector” was organized by the Department of Management Information System (MIS) on the 19th of June 2019 in the Multi-Purpose hall at 2:15 PM with Mr. Abdullah Muntasir Nabil, Senior Manager from a leading commercial bank and Mr. MD Zahidul Islam, VP & Head of Delivery, Sonali intellect as the resource persons. The Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva delivered a welcome speech. He encouraged all the audiences with his kind words by mentioning the importance of MIS in every aspect of corporate world. He also thanked the guest speakers to participate in the talk show. The presence of the respected speakers will motivate the students towards MIS as well as make them know about the opportunity in the job sector, he added.
During the talk show, the speakers shed light on various aspects of MIS which play huge roles in banking industry. MD Zahidul Islam started with by explaining the emergence of automation in banking industry. Abdullah Muntasir Nabil discussed about the job opportunities of MIS graduates. He mentioned the significant details about the features of getting job opportunities in MIS. Both the speakers emphasized on learning Microsoft excel for the current students. More than 70 students and all faculty members of the Department of MIS were present in the talk show. At the end of the session, there was a lively interactive question answer session between the speakers and the students. The speakers answered the questions delightfully with practical examples. After the session, Ms. Nazia Farhana, Assistant Professor, Dept of MIS and Mr. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid, Assistant Professor, Dept of MIS handed over the certificate of appreciation along with a gift to the honorable guest speakers. Dr. Tabin Hasan, Head, Graduate Program, Department of Computer Science was also present on the occasion.
